Who is it for?

This course is perfect for experienced meditators. While monk-level expertise is not required, having a personal practice for some time is important. Our program holds particular value for Coaches, Therapists, Psychologists, and Well-being professionals. Elevate your client sessions with the transformative power of meditation, fostering clarity and grounding.

What will be taught?

Our program offers a comprehensive learning experience that combines essential theory, guided meditations, student micro-practices, class feedback, and Q&A sessions. Each module comprises a 2-hour session, striking a  balance between theory and practice. 

Module 1: Fundamentals of Guiding Mindfulness and Meditation

  • Explore the science-based benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation.

  • Learn to explain the step-by-step process of breath awareness meditation and basic teaching guidelines.

Module 2: Body Awareness Meditation

  • Practice a relaxing meditation technique called the Body Scan.

  • Discover the neurological benefits and learn how to guide this meditation.

Module 3: Deep Breathing Meditation

  • Take relaxation to a deeper level by working with the breath.

  • Discover breath ratios that calm the mind and alleviate anxiety.

  • Explore how breathing ratios can influence the nervous system and body's chemical balance.

Module 4: Breath Awareness Meditation

  • Dive deeper into the idea of “awareness” by focusing on more subtle aspects of the breath.

  • We will integrate revisiting some of the key concepts of the course and offer plenty of time for Q&A. 

In addition, you will have access to supplemental resources for further study.

Participation Requirements

This program is designed for individuals who resonate with the idea that "the best way to learn is to teach." To join, it is essential to have an existing meditation practice, regardless of whether you consider yourself a beginner or an experienced practitioner. We encourage regular meditation without relying on apps or recordings.

Class Size:

For an optimal learning experience, each group is limited to a maximum of 8 participants. If there is sufficient demand, additional groups with new dates will be opened.

The mission of this training

My intention with this training is to expand the accessibility of mindfulness meditation.

Having been familiar with Buddhist Meditation since 1999, it was in 2017, during my time at Google, that I discovered the transformative potential of Secular Meditation. Central to this approach is the principle of inclusivity, ensuring that individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds can participate.

As a Coach, I witnessed the profound impact of meditation prior to my sessions. Surprisingly, only about 20% of my professional network of coaches possessed the knowledge to guide meditation. I am committed to changing this by empowering others to become skilled meditation guides.

About the teacher

Rio is a Breathwork Facilitator and Holistic Coach, dedicated to guiding individuals on their path of self-discovery and personal growth. With over two decades of meditation practice, Rio brings a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to his teachings.

Since the year 2000, Rio has immersed himself in various meditation traditions, including Zen, Buddhist Metta Bhavana, Vipassana, Yogic Meditation, Shamanic Journey, Dance Meditation, and Healing Breathwork.

Rio is a triple-certified Yoga Teacher, integrating movement-based practices and pranayama breath mechanics into his teachings. He has also received specialized training at Google, including the "Search Inside Yourself" for emotional intelligence and the mindfulness facilitator training for well-being and sustainable performance initiatives.

With a unique blend of modern and traditional practices, Rio combines science-based methodologies with traditional approaches, creating a transformative and holistic experience for his clients. For more information about Rio's background, please click here
